World of Echo A hidden gem of warm vibraphones, drums, analog synths, etc. Kind of like a more jam-friendly / less-compositional Tortoise--but don't worry, it's not "jam-bandy," and it always prioritizes musicality. Really great album from start to finish.

about

47.5:
This is a duo project by Yusuke Yamamoto and Yoshio "Tony" Kobayashi. Started in Brooklyn, New York 2009. Live loops of drums, vibes and analog synths. Dubbed out with tape echo, spring reverb and recored with cassette tape machine.
Yusuke is a classical trained, jazz influenced Vibraphone, Percussion player. Also who has been developing musical style with looping machines since early 90's, using his electric vibraphone, analog synth, and ambient sound.
Yoshio is a drummer who has been working in jazz, dub and afrobeat styles. On the other hand, he has been having ideas of using electronic elements into his play style and digging possibilities of looping, dubbing and combining live drum feel to creates fresh contrast of the sound.
One day in Brooklyn, NY, 2009. Those guys got a duo gig to play whatever they want. So they showed up with a bunch of equipment and jammed out for few hours. This moment was the birth of "47.5". The album was recorded few weeks later into cassette tape.
Now, Those 2 men's ideas explodes in this project 47.5!
They put dud, downtempo, rock and ambient in smooth but twisted dreamy mixer to process.
It's a very analog minded groovy slowdowner's music.
